Craft DigitizerCam is an unbeatable camera for precise camera movements. Use a digitizer arm (from Immersion) to control the camera movements directly in the view port. Craft DigitizerCam can be aimed and moved in all directions with high precision. It can also be linked to other objects making the camera move relative either a stationary or a moving object.
Craft DigitizerCam can be used in combination with other Craft Director Tools. An example would be to attach a Craft HumanizerCam so that the recording is made to look like it comes from a hand-held camera.
Using Craft DigitizerCam
Warning Unplug the digitizer during start
The Digitizer arm must be unplugged when you start Maya, Viz or 3Ds Max. If it is attached when you start your modelling application there will be a conflict between direct-x and the Digitizer which will prevent the program from starting.
Warning Optimizing the scene
It's wise to optimize the scene before starting to recording the animation. The scene is optimized by decreasing the amount of polygons shown during the recording. This is achieved by hiding objects not crucial to the part of the scene to be animated. Another tip is to use Craft Bounding Poly (only available for 3Ds Max and Viz), which temporary lowers the amount of polygons for selected objects and allows for a smoother recording.
