The BONUS FILM this issue - “One Rat Short” from Charlex and director Alex Weil - has been collecting awards on the festival circuit since its release this summer and we are pleased to be the venue for its world premiere on disk. And, as always, our music editor has lined up a fab BONUS MUSIC selection - tracks from seven Mush Records recording artists including Bibio, Daedelus, Thavius Beck, Caural, k-the-i???, Antimc and Lymbyc Systym.

The front end of this issue is over-loaded with innovative high-profile spots - NoBrain for Citroen, The Mill for Johnnie Walker, Soho for Dove, Bent Image lab for Lux, Mikros Image for Nissan, Pete Candeland through Passion Pictures for Gordon’s gin and Motion Theory for Microsoft’s Zune. Then we change pace with a tense and emotional new music video from Canadian animator Emmanuel Ho that bridges us nicely into the latest broadcast work from Masataka Kawano in Sydney, Capacity in LA, Trollbäck and INTERspectacular in NY, Buzz in Montreal, Citizen Pictures in Dallas and Framestore Design in London.

The last half of this magnum opus gets underway with a contrasting pair of music videos - one dark and highly personal from NY’s Crankbunny for Demander and the second, a candy-colored bug-infested frolic from Chris Milk for Gnarls Barkley. The resulting tone of happy, unpredictable inspiration continues as we blast through the last movement with intriguing new work from Method, Brand New School, Tronic, Pattern, XYZ, Underground Worm, Sarah Orenstein, Big Sky Effects, Animal Logic and Man vs. Magnet.
