Complete Accuracy
The Ultimate Human is simply the most complete and accurate set of 3D models of the human musculo-skeletal system that has ever been created. Its accuracy is the best possible with current medical science, with many major anatomical texts, papers, and custom MRI scans going into its 15+ man years of creation (over half of that time was input from medical experts qualifying the model set).
The images here will give you an indication of the authenticity, quality and scope of this set of models. When you combine these with our Absolute Character Tools software you have an animatable and anatomically accurate model that is generations ahead of anything else available anywhere.
The model conforms to the ideal male Caucasian form as best as current public and proprietary medical data sets can determine. The model set is perfectly matched with no interpenetrating components – even when there are multiple layers of joint sheaths! Relative surface accuracies are within 0.1mm in real world scale.
It took over 15 man years of work to construct the model set - even with proprietary software tools written to facilitate the process. |

Over half of the team making the model were medical and related anatomy experts - this ensures that the model set is as accurate as it can be with current medical science.
Total Flexibility
The master version of the model set is held in our ACT (Absolute Character Tools) format. This format embeds information such as muscle/tendon transition and fibre direction into the parametric objects. From this master format we can output to any common format desired.
The objects are optimally meshed and can be converted to equivalent NURBS or spline surfaces by users. As Polygon and mesh objects they are also optimal for either level of detail alteration (subdivision or decimation) and they also optimally mesh into single triangle stripes. UV co-ordinates are also embedded and encode muscle/tendon nature and transition.
