The Diverse Fields of 'Discreet'

Elemental showcases the world's best Discreet 3D art. The first collaborative title in Ballistic Publishing's growing list of digital art books, the book has been created in partnership with Discreet, a division of Autodesk. To match the diverse fields that Discreet software is used in, we sought out high profile practitioners in the fields of visual effects, game development, architecture and software development.

Elemental reflects the diverse fields that Discreet products occupy including motion pictures, TV, games, architecture / design visualization and artistic 3D creations.

Elemental expands upon Discreet's success with EXPOSÉ 1 where over half of 3D works featured were created using Discreet tools such as 3ds max, VIZ, combustion, character studio, mental ray, flame, flint, and inferno.

Advisory Board

The Advisory Board helped sort through over 1,000 entries to select just 251 images from 147 artists from 36 different countries. The images were allocated to the following categories: Beauty, Exterior Architecture, Interior Architecture, Character in Repose, Creature in Repose, Character in Action, Still Life, Product Design, Transport, Humorous, Abstract & Design, and Environment.
